Natalie C. MacDonald is author of the legal textbook, Extraordinary Damages in Canadian Employment Law, and a partner at GG&G where she practises exclusively in employment law.
She is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Windsor and received her B.A. Honours from Queen’s University. She was called to the Bar in 2000 and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations.
Natalie advises and represents both employers and employees in all aspects of employment law including issues in the hiring process, employer/employee terminations, restrictive covenants, employment contracts, employment standard issues, human rights and sexual harassment.
She has successfully argued cases in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, as well as before various tribunals. One of her cases, Antidormi v. Blue Pumpkin Software Inc. [2004] 35 C.C.E.L. (3d), is touted as a leading decision in the area of inducement.
Natalie is the Editor-in-Chief of the Employment Bulletin, and writes regularly for Canadian HR Reporter, Canadian Employment Law Today and Canadian Employer. She chairs and speaks regularly at various employment-law-related conferences, has provided commentary and opinion on employment issues to the media, and has made guest appearances on television.
She was also a guest instructor at Osgoode Hall Law School’s Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop.
For the last four years, Natalie was named one of Canada’s Top Employment Law Practitioners in Canadian HR (Human Resource) Reporter’s special edition of Canada’s Top Employment Law Practitioners.
