Michael Stitz is an Associate lawyer with Grosman, Grosman & Gale LLP.
He represents both employers and employees (including contractors) in all aspects of employment law. Much of his work involves wrongful dismissal and human rights litigation, negotiating severance packages, navigating workplace conflicts and the drafting, negotiation and interpretation of employment contracts.
He has acted or assisted in matters before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Appeal, Ontario Ministry of Labour, Ontario Labour Relations Board, Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and Public Service Grievance Board of Ontario.
He is currently a regular contributor to Canada Law Book’s Employment Bulletin, which discusses critical and emerging workplace issues. He also recently co-authored a paper for the Insight conference on employee terminations entitled, “A Tweet Too Far: Social Media in the Employment Law Context”.
He is also the past recipient of the CCH Prize for Legal Writing as well as the Blakes Scholar Award for academic excellence.
